Cork has exported yet another incredible talent to Hollywood – as 19-year-old Craig Hogan racks up credits with TV stars, a Grammy-winning producer and now a prestigious World Entertainment Award.
The 19-year-old from Carragaline has taken home the prize for Best Dancer – his first international trophy. The award was presented the day before the Grammy Awards, during one of the biggest weeks in the global entertainment calendar. Craig has now won three major dance awards, with the LA recognition marking a major milestone in his career – and he’s now working on international film, music and live performance projects between Ireland and the US.
“I started dancing when I was 12, which is very old when you want to pursue a professional career,” Craig told RSVP Live. “What began as a hobby quickly turned into something much more serious, and over the years I trained intensively and began working professionally both in Ireland and internationally.”
Craig says he is trained in “pretty much every dance style. Contemporary, commercial, jazz, ballet, acro, and lyrical… My favourite styles are definitely contemporary and jazz,” he added.

Craig’s dance work is mainly based in the US across different media, and he has had the chance to work with famous dancers and choreographers across the world. He said: “I’ve performed across a mix of platforms including stage performances, screen and music-related projects.
“A lot of my recent work has been internationally focused, particularly in the US, across film, music and live performance settings. I have a music video releasing later this year that has been produced by Grammy winning producer, Bruce Elliot-Smith.
“I have had the opportunity to perform in Hollywood with JoJo Siwa from the popular reality television show Dance Moms. She also appeared as a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother last year. I also had the privilege of working with the Dance Moms coach, Abby Lee Miller.”
Craig’s family and friends in his native Cork couldn’t be prouder of his recent achievement. “They’ve been incredibly proud and supportive,” he gushed. “Cork has always been home for me, so to have that support while achieving something like this internationally really means a lot.”
Craig wants to continue soaring to new heights in his dance career and earn more accolades. He said: “I think what’s next for me is to just continue what I am doing and keep pushing forward to constantly set the bar higher and higher. I personally work harder when I am just off a big momentum.”
