NANLUX Motorized Yoke-L Announced – IP66-Rated Pan/Tilt Control for Evoke 5000B and 2400B

NANLUX has introduced the YK-E-EVL Motorized Yoke-L, a weather-sealed motorized yoke designed specifically for the Evoke 5000B and 2400B LED spotlights. This IP66-rated accessory delivers 540° pan and 270° tilt motion with 40 N·m torque capacity, self-locking mechanisms, and comprehensive control options including DMX, Art-Net, CRMX, and the NANLINK App.

The Chinese lighting manufacturer continues expanding its Evoke ecosystem with professional rigging solutions that match the all-weather capabilities of its high-output fixtures. We previously covered NANLUX’s Evoke 5000B when it was introduced, and this motorized yoke was teased as a companion accessory for the 5000W spotlight alongside the Evoke 2400B fixture we reviewed in depth.

The motorized yoke provides extensive positioning capabilities across both axes. Pan motion covers 540 degrees, completing a full rotation in 47 seconds, while tilt spans 270 degrees, with 26 seconds required for complete range coverage. This wide movement range reduces the need for frequent fixture repositioning during production, particularly valuable when working with heavy-rigged setups on elevated positions or trusses.

The speeds accommodate both precise adjustments for subtle lighting changes and faster repositioning between setups. For gaffers working with programmed lighting cues or DMX sequences, these consistent motion speeds enable predictable timing when coordinating multiple fixtures.

NANLUX built the yoke from magnesium alloy, balancing structural strength with manageable weight for professional rigging applications. The construction supports heavy configurations, including the Evoke 5000B paired with the FL-45E Fresnel lens, which represents one of the most demanding load scenarios in the Evoke accessory lineup.

A high-strength motor delivers up to 40 N·m (Newton-meters) of torque on the tilt axis, maintaining set angles even under heavy loads while enabling smooth position changes. An internal self-locking mechanism engages after adjustments are made or when power is removed, preventing accidental sag that could compromise lighting setups or create safety hazards on set.

Manual adjustment remains available when motorized control isn’t required or practical. The quick-release plate system includes a T-handle that returns the plate to its initial position, minimizing physical effort when detaching fixtures from the yoke between setups or during load-in and load-out procedures.

This mechanical backup provides operational flexibility when working in environments where power availability is limited or when the crew needs immediate hands-on positioning control without cycling through electronic interfaces.

For Evoke 5000B users, installation involves inserting the yoke’s quick-release plates into the fixture’s matching quick-release plate bases and connecting the extension cable to the fixture’s EXT port. The Evoke 2400B requires attaching the included quick-release adapters and connecting the extension cable to the fixture’s DMX IN port using the supplied DMX adapter cable.

The motorized yoke mounts directly onto light stands equipped with junior pin receivers, or attaches to trusses up to 60 mm in diameter using the included truss adapter. This dual-mounting approach addresses both ground-supported and overhead rigging scenarios common in professional production environments.

The control panel features buttons and knobs for direct angle adjustments, with a CENTER button that instantly resets the yoke to its 0° pan and tilt position. This zeroing function provides a consistent reference point when programming lighting sequences or returning to established positions.

Wired connectivity includes EXT, DMX, and LAN ports on the control box, enabling control via wired controller, DMX/RDM protocols, and Art-Net or sACN network lighting control systems. Built-in Bluetooth and LumenRadio CRMX modules provide wireless control through the NANLINK App and CRMX-compatible devices, matching the control ecosystem established across NANLUX’s Evoke series.

The comprehensive protocol support allows integration into existing lighting control infrastructure without requiring dedicated controllers or interface devices, particularly relevant for rental houses and production companies with established DMX or network-based lighting workflows.

The IP66 rating provides dust and water ingress protection matching the Evoke 5000B and 2400B fixtures themselves. This environmental sealing enables operation in challenging conditions, including exterior shoots in rain, dusty locations, or coastal environments where salt spray presents equipment risks.

For productions requiring all-weather lighting packages, the motorized yoke extends the protected ecosystem rather than introducing vulnerable components that limit deployment options or require additional weather housing.

Transport and storage

An optional flight case constructed from aluminum alloy includes rolling wheels for transport. The case addresses the transport challenges associated with motorized accessories, protecting motors, electronics, and mechanical components during truck packs and venue load-ins.

The flight case configuration is available as a separate SKU for productions requiring dedicated transport solutions for the motorized yoke alongside Evoke fixtures and their associated modifiers and accessories.

Pricing and configurations

The standard kit is priced at $2,290, while the flight case kit costs $2,490 (excluding local taxes). Both configurations are currently shipping. The motorized yoke will be showcased at the BSC Expo in London this week, where cinematographers can evaluate its performance firsthand alongside the Evoke fixtures.
