EastEnders spoilers follow for Thursday’s episode (12 February), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.

EastEnders has aired a very dramatic episode, as Kat Moon and Chrissie Watts come face to face for the first time since Christmas. This week, Kat and Alfie managed to persuade returning Jake to lure Chrissie back to Walford.

They are convinced that Chrissie killed Anthony and framed Zoe for his murder, so are hoping that a confession will get Zoe out of prison – but they don’t realise that it’s actually Jasmine who is responsible for Anthony’s death.

The plan worked and Chrissie agreed to meet up with Jake in the park café the next day. In today’s episode, it was time to say goodbye to Alfie, as he left to visit his struggling brother Spencer in Australia for a few weeks.

Jake headed to the park while Kat waited nearby, and sure enough, Chrissie showed up to meet her ex-partner – and Jake began secretly recording their conversation on his phone.

However, as Jake asked about Jasmine, Chrissie was suspicious about his line of questioning, and she was totally confused when he brought up Anthony’s death.

Kat then showed herself to Chrissie and confronted her, but Chrissie made it clear that she didn’t kill Anthony. When Kat went to call the police, Jake decided that he believed Chrissie – so he snatched Kat’s phone away and the pair made a run for it.

Chrissie was furious that Jake had tried to set her up and get a confession out of her, but together they managed to trick Kat and made a getaway in Chrissie’s car.

Jake apologised to Chrissie for betraying her, but Chrissie realised that these rumours were never going to go away, so she insisted that they return to The Vic to end this drama for good.

Leaving Jake in the pub, Chrissie went upstairs to confront Kat on her own and reiterated that she didn’t have a clue about Anthony’s murder. In fact, she was more interested in the fact that there was a body upstairs during the huge showdown on Christmas Day.

Chrissie taunted Kat over her tricky relationship with Zoe over the years, before telling her who she really should be suspecting of killing Anthony – her accomplice, Jasmine.

“That girl has got a demon in her,” Chrissie said. “She manipulated me, and now she’s manipulated you. If Zoe didn’t kill Anthony, there is only one person who was capable of it. Jasmine.”

Will Kat believe Chrissie’s theory, and has Jasmine finally been caught?

EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
