Dressing Dublin: Screening and Exhibition
Did you know there was a vibrant textile industry in Blackrock? Dressing Dublin: Made in Blackrock explores a part of history that may have been previously overlooked. DLR Heritage and Laura Fitzachary are proud to present a short film and an exhibition focusing on a small area of Blackrock and its former clothing and textile industry.
From Glen Abbey Textiles to ‘The Rock’ hosiery factory, this event explores an often overlooked part of dress and social history. The exhibition will run from 14 – 22 February on Level 4 at DLR LexIcon, and 23 February – 9 March in Blackrock Library. You can reserve a spot for free.

Dream Point’s ‘Van Gogh After Dark’ has recently expanded Friday nights through to March. The adults-only Dream Point After Dark experience runs from 5.30pm to 8pm, and allows guests to explore Dream Point without daytime crowds before settling into the Van Gogh projection show in a relaxed atmosphere. Evening sessions will feature an extended adult version of the Van Gogh documentary, reinforcing the experience as a true night out rather than a traditional exhibition visit. Tickets cost €20.90.
Asian & Irish Community Connect is hosting a fun and festive pub quiz at Jack Nealons as part of Dublin’s Lunar New Year Celebrations on Friday, 13 February from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Valentine’s Piano by Candlelight
On 14 February, from 8pm – 10pm, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin 8 will host an enchanting evening with their Candlelight Concert. The candlelit piano concert with Conor Linehan will feature a wide-ranging programme of much-loved piano music, including Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, selections from Chopin’s 24 Preludes, and Liszt’s Liebesträume. Scene and Heard: The Festival of New Work
Running from 12-28 February at Dublin’s Smock Alley Theatre, the Scene and Heard Festival of New Work sees creatives from across the country perform their work-in-progress shows.
