Netflix has unveiled several thrilling new additions this week, including one that viewers are describing as a “cinematic masterpiece”.

The period drama, starring Irish actress Saoirse Ronan, has been praised as “perfect” by certain critics and features an impressive ensemble cast.

This follows Netflix‘s announcement of exciting releases arriving this week, confirming on X that subscribers can anticipate Lisa McGee’s new series How to Get to Heaven from Belfast, the first 10 seasons of Stargate SG-1, and several classic Wes Anderson films being added to the platform.

Yet one film particularly catches the eye due to its devoted following and exceptionally renowned cast, featuring Ronan alongside Ralph Fiennes, Adrien Brody, Lea Seydoux, Willem Dafoe and Edward Norton.

The Grand Budapest Hotel, originally released in 2014, has captivated viewers over the years with its delightful screenplay, superb performances and breathtaking visuals, reports the Express.

The film, which boasts an impressive 92% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes, arrives on Netflix today alongside other Anderson titles including The Royal Tenenbaums, The Darjeeling Limited and The French Dispatch.

The synopsis for The Grand Budapest Hotel reads: “In the 1930s, the Grand Budapest Hotel is a popular European ski resort, presided over by concierge Gustave H. (Ralph Fiennes). Zero, a junior lobby boy, becomes Gustave’s friend and protégé.

“Gustave prides himself on providing first-class service to the hotel’s guests, including satisfying the sexual needs of the many elderly women who stay there. When one of Gustave’s lovers dies mysteriously, Gustave finds himself the recipient of a priceless painting and the chief suspect in her murder.”

Fans of the film have flocked to the review aggregator site to share their admiration, with one declaring: “An utter delight of a film that I continue to revisit on a regular basis. It might actually be Wes Anderson’s best movie, which is saying quite a lot.”
