Kris Aquino is welcoming her 55th birthday with hope and optimism.

In a new Instagram post, the Queen of All Media shared a photo of herself with her birthday balloons.

She opened her message with lyrics from “Rainbow” by South Border: “Even if there is pain now/ Everything would be alright/ For as long as the world still turns/ There will be night and day.”

Kris talked about her journey through recovery, noting that while she isn’t yet allowed to walk outside until weeks after her stitches are removed, she is now moving around unaided and rarely uses her wheelchair.

“I hope you all realize that [RB Chanco] is a magician, my skin in my face is in good shape for someone turning 55 on Saturday, February 14, but I’m not allowed to have any sun exposure nor put any cream on my face or massage my neck area; I’ll share with you in 5 weeks why everyone is so protective and doing their best to not let me take an accidental fall because that would be seriously life threatening for me,” she wrotr.

Kris also reflected on her role as a mother, emphasizing that while she will help with the styling of her son, Bimby, career decisions are entrusted to his trusted mentors.

Looking ahead, Kris said she hopes to co-produce her own on-camera podcast and eventually start producing “immunity cells” once fully healed.

“Yet I’m so grateful to reach 55. I am now praying to reach 60 so I’ll have both a PWD (Person With Disability) and Senior Citizen’s Card. So many online establishments don’t accept the PWD as a valid government issued ID. I never learned how to drive. I only have my passport,” she said.

Kris left for the United States in 2022 to seek treatment. She returned to the Philippines in 2024.

She is battling nine autoimmune conditions.
