A major power outage impacted thousands of homes across Waterford City last night, February 12th.

The Grange and Farronshoneen areas were among those affected by the outage at approximately 10.30pm.

More than 3,000 customers served by the Grange power supply were without power until just before midnight.

Meanwhile some houses in that area will remain without power until tomorrow.

Estimated restore times are currently predicted to be 1pm tomorrow.

Areas of St. John’s Park were also affected, as was the Dunmore Road area of the city.

It is estimated that some 15,000 homes were without power for a number of hours while ground crews worked to restore supply to homes and businesses.
