The Prince and Princess of Wales have shared a previously unseen photograph to mark Valentine’s Day today. The loved-up snap was taken at Anmer Hall in April of last year by photographer Josh Shinner. It shows the royal couple sitting side by side in the grounds of their Norfolk home.

William, wearing a shirt and jumper, has his left arm on his wife’s lap. Smiling Catherine is wearing a white blouse with a tweed blazer, and her long brunette hair is swept to one side of her face in the black-and-white portrait.

The new image was accompanied by the simple caption: “Happy Valentine’s Day” and a love heart emoji.

Royal photographer Josh Shinner has taken several images of the Wales family in the past, and one of his most recent snaps was the picture released to mark Prince Louis’ seventh birthday last April. It showed the gap-toothed prince sitting in beautiful forest scenery wearing jeans, a shirt and a green jumper.

The Yorkshire born photographer was also behind the camera of their modern 2023 Christmas card. The monochrome image saw the family of five all wearing plain white shirts and jeans. They were arranged around a smiling Princess Charlotte who was seated on a chair.

The picture was released after another tumultuous week for the Royal Family with the continued release of claims relating to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s relationship with conviced paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Prince William‘s three-day trip to Saudia Arabia was overshadowed by the scandal, despite Kensington Palace’s best efforts to ensure the focus remained on his hardest diplomatic mission to date.
