If you’ve been watching Love Is Blind since the beginning, then you know that season 10’s Amber Morrison is not the first contestant to enter the pods with a child at home. (Please see: Jessica Vestal from season 6 and Jordan Keltner from season 9.) However, she may be the first person to get engaged to someone who explicitly called children a “deal-breaker” for him.

During an exclusive interview with Cosmo, we asked Jordan Faeth why he would propose to a single mom if he couldn’t see himself become a stepparent, and his answer was…interesting! “I think I was really trying to open myself to the experiment itself, which is put some of your preconceptions to the side and focus on the person,” he said. “That’s how you’re going to meet somebody who maybe wouldn’t be who you typically date.”

And how did he feel about that somebody being a parent? Per Jordan: “It was not expected, but here we are.”

Of course, we also had to ask about his reveal with Amber, which may go down as one of the most awkward in LIB history, mostly because Jordan seemed smitten, and Amber seemed…underwhelmed.

Watch for yourself:

While many fans took to social media to discuss Amber’s lackluster reaction to her fiancé, Jordan told us that, from his perspective, the moment was more “surreal” than uncomfortable.

“That was the most surreal moment of my entire life,” he said. “You see each other, and you’re trying to take in what they look like, and you hear them talk, and it’s, like, too much for your brain to handle in that moment.”

However! Despite things initially feeling “kind of weird,” Jordan noted that “you get used to” finally matching your partner’s voice to their face. Considering that both he and Amber appeared much more at ease during their honeymoon in Cabo, I do think that is the case!

But the question remains: Will Jordan be ready to take on (step)fatherhood once the honeymoon ends? Guess we’ll find out when the next three episodes drop on Wednesday, February 18!!
