That’s all for this Sunday, we’ll back for next weekend’s double header of football and hurling.
Here are the highlights of Tyrone’s comprehensive win over Cavan today, with a particularly good performance from Darragh Canavan.
And here’s all four league tables in football after this weekend’s fixtures.
Here’s a look at the Division One table after this weekend’s fixtures, courtsey of GAALeagueTables on X (formerly Twitter).
Here are the highlights of Donegal’s win over Mayo earlier today.
Full-time: Tyrone 2-23 Cavan 1-14
Man of the match Darragh Canavan fittingly gets the last score of the game.
69 Mins: Oisín Brady gets a black card for pulling down Darragh Canavan. Michael McKernan then gets a lovely score, scooping it up and popping it over under pressure. Paddy Lynch is getting treatment for a head injury with a few seconds left now. Tyrone 2-22 Cavan 1-14
68 Mins: Ethan Jordan, named to start, gets his first score of the game off the bench. Tyrone 2-21 Cavan 1-14
65 Mins: The game was lost for Cavan on their own kickouts, as they struggled to compete with the likes of Brian Kennedy in midfield. Now they’re able keep hold of the ball with Morgan as the quarterback. Now he feeds McElholm, who fires over. Tyrone 2-20 Cavan 1-14
62 Mins: With Cavan’s threat waning, Tyrone seem happy enough to keep hold of the ball. Conn Kilpatrick eventually breaks the line and pops it over off the left. Tyrone 2-18 Cavan 1-14
58 Mins: Bloody hell, how did that not go in? Liam Brady kicks it straight to Seanie O’Donnell who draws out the ‘keeper and squares it, but between Daly and McElholm they manage to not touch it into the net. Bizarre stuff, but they have a good lead regardless now. Tyrone 2-17 Cavan 1-13
57 Mins: Eoin McElholm uses the outside of the boot to find Mattie Donnelly in space, and it’s a simple tapover for the veteran. Tyrone 2-17 Cavan 1-13
56 Mins: Maybe Cavan don’t have a man-marker on Canavan, but if that’s true then it’s been a bad idea. He gets another score in tonnes of space, before Joe Oguz gets another for Tyrone. Tyrone 2-16 Cavan 1-13
54 Mins: Then at the other end, it’s Darragh Canavan who gets a score far too handily. Cavan set up a good counter-attack after, and Paddy Lynch salvages things when it falls apart, nailing a score in the corner. Tyrone 2-14 Cavan 1-13
53 Mins: A handy score for McKiernan, who lost his man a bit too easily. Tyrone 2-13 Cavan 1-12
51 Mins: Another great save from Brady! Seanie O’Donnell is denied this time, but Tyrone do well to get it over for a point. Tyrone 2-13 Cavan 1-11
50 Mins: A superb save from Cavan’s Liam Brady, as he tips over an effort from McElholm. Tyrone 2-12 Cavan 1-11
48 Mins: A Paddy Lynch free had the lead back to three, but Darragh Canavan shows his class to flick the ball up and feed Frank Burns, who knocks it over. Tyrone 2-11 Cavan 1-10
46 Mins: Two poor misses from the hosts, as Ronan Cassidy hits the post from the 21′ and then Mattie Donnelly can’t clean it up with a snapshot at the posts. At the other end, Lynch dummies around his man and pops a sweet score over. Tyrone 2-10 Cavan 1-9
43 Mins: Cavan sit way off Darragh Canavan and are punished for that mistake, as he strikes through the ball sweetly for a two-pointer. In the next play, Eoin McElholm has a good chance to palm into the net, but his effort is saved. Tyrone 2-10 Cavan 1-8
41 Mins: Gearóid McKiernan drops a shot disappointingly short from a free inside the arc. In their next attack they finally get Paddy Lynch on the ball in shooting range, and the sub pops it over. Tyrone 2-8 Cavan 1-8
39 Mins: Tyrone get their first score of the half through Ronan Cassidy. Tyrone 2-8 Cavan 1-7
36 Mins: A fantastic score from Oisin Brady starts the second half. Tyrone 2-7 Cavan 1-7
Here’s Brian Kennedy’s finish, probably the pick of the three in the first half.
Half-time: Tyrone 2-7 Cavan 1-6
Darragh Canavan with the final score of the half for Tyrone.
32 Mins: Goal for Tyrone! Mattie Donnelly gets on the end of a hand-passing move. Tyrone 2-6 Cavan 1-6
29 Mins: More poor shooting from Tyrone, as Ben Cullen and Ciarán Daly both drop shots short. Then Gerard Smith does likewise at the other end. Tyrone 1-6 Cavan 1-6
26 Mins: Some wild shooting on btoh sides, as McElholm and McKiernan both register wides. Tyrone 1-6 Cavan 1-6
24 Mins: Dara McVeety does really well to see off a stern tackle and drive a point over to level matters again. Tyrone 1-6 Cavan 1-6
22 Mins: Huge goal chance missed by Tyrone! They work so hard to win the ball back in Cavan’s half, and send Michael Rafferty into the clear. He checks back onto his right inside the 14′, sets himself, and welly-kicks it a mile wide. Tyrone 1-6 Cavan 1-5
21 Mins: Ryan Donohoe gets up superbly to fist on a Cavan kickout, which allows Gearóid McKiernan to get a hnady first score. Eoin McElholm does very well at the other end to make the space for a good score. Tyrone 1-6 Cavan 1-5
17 Mins: Seanie O’Donnell puts Tyrone in front again with a left-footed point.
16 Mins: Dara McVeety gets a bit of space and lets off a shot, but it drops just short. Himself and Michael McKernan get well acquainted after that and both see yellow for the handbags.
Goal for Tyrone! Brian Kennedy makes the late run off the shoulder of Seanie O’Donnell and buries it low. Tyrone 1-4 Cavan 1-4
13 Mins: A super score from Cavan’s Peter Corrigan, as he breaks through a couple of tackles and pops it. Then, a few seconds later, Gerard Smith adds another for Cavan. Tyrone 0-4 Cavan 1-4
12 Mins: Darragh Canavan skins Jason McLoughlin and puts it over from just inside the arc. Tyrone 0-4 Cavan 1-2
11 Mins: A brilliant turovner from Tyrone sets them in for what looks like a potential goal chance, but instead they conspire to lose it and Cavan escape. Tyrone 0-3 Cavan 1-2
9 Mins: Ronan Cassidy runs the length of the pitch untouched and sets Darragh Canavan up for a good score. Then Canavan turns provider, as Frank Burns latches onto his pass and pops it over. Tyrone 0-3 Cavan 1-2
7 Mins: Brian Kennedy is fouled , in the view of the ref, but Seanie O’Donnell misses the free. Tyrone 0-1 Cavan 1-2
4 Mins: Goal for Cavan! All of a sudden it’s a great start for Cavan! Oisin Brady pops over a two-point-free, and Niall Morgan’s kickout goes awry, allowing Tiarnan Madden to get in for an easy goal. Tyrone 0-1 Cavan 1-2
2 Mins: Eoin McElholm gets the first score of the game for Tyrone. Tyrone 0-1 Cavan 0-0

And here’s the Cavan XV.
That means that there’s only one fixture left today, as Tyrone take on Cavan in Division 2, with both sides searching for a first win.
69 Mins: Armagh try and force a goal chance, but they can only manage a point. And that’s it!
Full-time: Roscommon 3-18 Armagh 0-24
Full-time – NFL Division 2: Tipperary 1-14 Carlow 1-17, Antrim 1-14 Longford 1-27
Full-time – NFL Division 2: Offaly 0-19 Cork 3-15
Big goal chance for Armagh as the ball is squared to Oisin O’Neill, but he can only palm it into Aaron Brady’s hands. Then Ross McQuillan gets in behind less than a minute later and blasts it wide. 66 Mins: Roscommon 3-18 Armagh 0-23
A lovely score from Tomás McCormack brings Armagh back to a two-score game, and then Cian McConville adds a two-pointer. Four in it again! 65 Mins: Roscommon 3-18 Armagh 0-23
Goal for Roscommon! Jack Duggan skins Ben Crealey with a dummy solo, fists the ball across goal and Paul Carey taps it home. 61 Mins: Roscommon 3-18 Armagh 0-18
It’s shaping up for a cracking finish at Dr Hyde Park now. Ross McQuillan gets back-to-back scores, with the latter being a half-chance of a goal. At the other end, Daire Cregg also gets a goal chance, but opts for the point. 58 Mins: Roscommon 2-18 Armagh 0-17
Cork are still enjoying a sizeable win over the Faithful County. 60 Mins: Offaly 0-14 Cork 3-13
69 Mins: Ryan O’Donoghue nearly got an absolutely genius goal at the death, flicking the ball over his own head and over Mulreany, but it was disallowed, presumably for steps on the previous players.
Full-time: Donegal 1-19 Mayo 0-14
Armagh have failed to press home that momentum from before the disallowed goal, with Diarmuid Murtagh and Aaron Brady the only scorers since, both for the hosts. Callum O’Neill manages to pull one back for Armagh. 51 Mins: Roscommon 2-17 Armagh 0-15
66 Mins: Ciarán Moore adds a lovely score for the hosts, as they seem well on top. Donegal 1-19 Mayo 0-14
Goal for Armagh! Ross McQuillan gets in behind and blasts an effort into the roof of the net. There’s a row behind the goal then between himself and Ronan Daly, and fair play to the umpire as he gets stuck in seperating the pair.
No goal! The ref scratches out the goal for what looks like a three-back violation. Roscommon tap over the free, putting it from a four point game to an eight point game in a second. 46 Mins: Roscommon 2-16 Armagh 0-14
Enda Smith tussles with Greg McCabe as Roscommon lead Armagh in Division 1.

62 Mins: Meanwhile in Donegal, Feargal Boland and Conor O’Donnell have traded scores. Then Ryan O’Donoghue gets a cracker of a score over his shoulder, but it looks a bit late for a comeback. Donegal 1-18 Mayo 0-14
59 Mins: A Shane O’Donnell point gives Donegal breathing room again, but Jordan Flynn replies for Mayo. Donegal 1-17 Mayo 0-12
A lovely two-pointer from Oisin O’Neill, as the gap shortens to nine. And then another from the same man brings it back to a seven point game. 44 Mins: Roscommon 2-15 Armagh 0-14
55 Mins: Enda Hession gets a very un-corner-back score for Mayo, and Mulreany’s resulting short kickout doesn’t make it to the 21′. Mayo get in and steal it, playing in Beirne, who’s soccer effort is stopped again by Mulreany, who’s saves have been fantastic throughout. Donegal 1-16 Mayo 0-11
Roscommon will be happy with the first five minutes of the half, now playing against the wind. Enda Smith got the first score, with Oisin O’Neill missing a fairly makeable effort, much to his own annoyance. Tiernan Kelly pulls one back for the visitors. 40 Mins: Roscommon 2-15 Armagh 0-9
51 Mins: Ryan O’Donoghue and Sam Callinan add two-points in a row for Mayo, as the rain begins to pour down again. Donegal 1-16 Mayo 0-10
Another goal for Cork in Tullamore; this time it’s Mark Cronin. 40 Mins: Offaly 0-8 Cork 3-10
47 Mins: Donegal are pushing on now. This time Shane O’Donnell makes a great run into the arc, feeds Roarty, and the half-back clips a point over. The goal could have been on again. The crowd gets a big lift as well, as Michael Murphy makes his entrance. Donegal 1-16 Mayo 0-8
45 Mins: Ryan O’Donoghue isn’t have a great day by his high standards, and his effort at goal is saved easily by Gavin Mulreany.
Goal for Donegal! Peadar Mogan gets in behind and fists the ball across for Conor O’Donnell to slam home. Donegal 1-14 Mayo 0-8
43 Mins: Oisin Gallen opens his account for the second half, as he steps inside his man and pops one over off the left boot. Lovely score. Donegal 0-14 Mayo 0-7
40 Mins: Super save from Mulreany! He stops Beirne’s toe-poked effort with the tips of his fingers. Then Donegal go up the other end and Ryan McHugh gets a massive two-pointer to put it back out to a six-point game. Donegal 0-13 Mayo 0-7
38 Mins: The first scoring chances of the half go the way of Mayo. Rob Hennelly drops a 45′ effort short, and O’Shea gets in to fist it over. However, it’s a square ball, and there’s a break then as Gavin Mulreany got cleared out of it in there. Darragh Beirne gets the first score of the half, a lovley curler off his left. Then Loftus pops one over too. Donegal 0-11 Mayo 0-7
Full-time – NFL Division 3: Fermanagh 0-18 Clare 2-18
NFL Division 4: London 1-20 Leitrim 2-19
Half-time: Offaly 0-6 Cork 2-9
Colm O’Callaghan rattles the back of the net again before the break.
We’re just about to throw in for the second half in Donegal, so here’s Seán Moran’s thoughts on the first 35.
‘Donegal completed a very satisfactory first half in O’Donnell Park, Letterkenny to lead by six, 0-11 to 0-5 at the break. A big crowd had arrived early for this top-of-the-table clash with Mayo, the only other county on a 100 per cent going into the weekend.
A sustained period of attack led to some cautious play as Donegal got the measure if the wind they were facing but newcomer, Conor McCahill, a late call-up, hit the first two points and they were up and running. Oisín Gallen weighed in with 0-5 in the first half, three from play, and they led by 0-4 to nil before Mayo managed a first score in the 16th minute.
Although they attempted the fast attacking style, evident under Andy Moran’s management, they got little change from Donegal’s defence.
They’ll need a stepped-up performance after the break if they are going to put a dent in the home side’s record.’
Half-time: Roscommon 2-14 Armagh 0-8
Roscommon’s Keith Doyle fields a kickout, but is deemed to have pushed his opposite number. He lands on the ball when the whistle sounds and has an Armagh man on top of him, but the ref still penalises him 50 yards for failing to present the ball quickly, so Oisin O’Neill gets a simple free out of it. 33 Mins: Roscommon 2-13 Armagh 0-8
Full-time – NFL Division 3: Limerick 1-15 Wexford 1-14
Gareth Murphy registers a point for Armagh, and Kieran McGeeney sends on a big gun, with Ben Crealey introduced in the 27th minute to try and wrestle control of the skies away from the Rossies. 27 Mins: Roscommon 2-13 Armagh 0-6
Cork are comfortably in front after pointed frees from Steven Sherlock and a point from play by Mark Cronin. 26 Mins: Offaly 0-4 Cork 1-8
Daire Cregg gets a brilliant two-pointer, skinning Peter McGrane in the process. Then he gets the ball in long, and Armagh sit off him, allowing him to tap a point over. From the next kickout, Darragh Heneghan adds another. 25 Mins: Roscommon 2-13 Armagh 0-5
Half-time: NFL Division 1 – Donegal 0-11 Mayo 0-5
Oisin Gallen gets another lovely score before the break, his fifth of the day.
Enda Smith barrels through and Armagh are eventually penalised for pulling him back. That leaves Daire Cregg a handy free to pop over. Less straightforward is the two-point-free that Diarmuid Murtagh horses over a minute later. 20 Mins: Roscommon 2-9 Armagh 0-3
31 Mins: Ryan McHugh and Gallen link up well, and the half-back gets in behind for a score. Up the other end, it’s the turn of Mayo’s number five, Sam Callinan, as he knocks over a point. Donegal 0-10 Mayo 0-5
29 Mins: Bob Tuohy got a lovely score for Mayo, but it was quickly cancelled out by another Gallen strike. James Carr has come off for Conor Loftus for Mayo. Donegal 0-9 Mayo 0-4
Lovely score from Cian McConville for Armagh, just getting over the crossbar. But then, Diarmuid Murtagh smashes a two-pointer over. 13 Mins: Roscommon 2-6 Armagh 0-3
Goal for Cork through Colm O’Callaghan, as they ease away from Offaly early on in Tullamore. 10 Mins: Offaly 0-2 Cork 1-4
26 Mins: Jordan Flynn finally registers Mayo’s first point from play. Donegal 0-7 Mayo 0-3
It’s been a dream start for the Rossies against Armagh. Enda Smith with the latest score for the hosts, and their defence is doing a fine job of turning the ball back over. 9 Mins: Roscommon 2-4 Armagh 0-2
23 Mins: A goal chance goes begging for Donegal, as McCahill’s fisted pass goes untouched across the face of goal. Roarty is there to feed on the scraps though, and sends it over. Donegal 0-7 Mayo 0-2
21 Mins: Conor O’Donnell tears off the shoulder of Shane O’Donnell to add another good point for Donegal. James Carr drops a shot short at the other end, continuing Mayo’s frustration in front of goal. Donegal 0-6 Mayo 0-2
It’s all even after six minutes in Division Two between Cork and Offaly. Offaly 0-2 Cork 0-2
19 Mins: The sun is shining through the clouds now in Donegal. Oisin Gaelln adds another point for the hosts. Donegal 0-5 Mayo 0-2
Goal for Roscommon! And then another! First, Diarmuid Murtagh adds to his earlier two-pointer with a trickling finish, and then from the resulting kickout, Enda Smith marches in and strikes one home. 3 Mins: Roscommon 2-2 Armagh 0-1
16 Mins: Ryan O’Donoghue cracks over a two-point free to get Mayo back into the game. Donegal 0-4 Mayo 0-2
15 Mins: This time it’s Gallen who’s running on the loop, and he sticks one over again. Donegal 0-4 Mayo 0-0
The 2.00pm throw-ins are just getting underway, with Roscommon hosting Armagh and Cork away to Offaly the picks of the ties.
13 Mins: Oisin Gallen gets his first score of the afternoon from a free. At the other end, Jack Carney and Ryan O’Donoghue register wides. Donegal 0-3 Mayo 0-0
11 Mins: Back-to-back scores for McCahill as he strikes over on the loop. So far, Donegal’s hand passing and measured build-up seems to be working better. Donegal 0-2 Mayo 0-0
9 Mins: Mayo are trying to play it a lot more directly than the hosts, but their kick passes have been forced and poorly executed so far. Late change Conor McCahill gets the first score of the afternoon, a lovely effort off the outside of the left boot for Donegal. Donegal 0-1 Mayo 0-0
5 Mins: Oisin Gallen has the first shot of the game, but it’s wild and wide. Ryan O’Donoghue attempts a kick pass into the inside-forwards, but it blows well away to the sideline. Conditions obviously contributing to a fairly slow opening. Donegal 0-0 Mayo 0-0
2 Mins: We’re off in Letterkenny, and it’s a physical battle straight away, with early turnovers by both sides, but no chances made. Donegal 0-0 Mayo 0-0
Half-time scores:
Division 4 – London 1-14 Leitrim 1-4
Division 3 – Fermanagh 0-10 Clare 1-10, Limerick 0-5 Wexford 0-9
Less than fifteen minutes until throw-in in Letterkenny now. Just a reminder that Mayo were dumped out of the championship last year by today’s hosts, as a last-minute Ciaran Moore score sank their hopes of advancing through the group phase. That could provide a little extra motivation for Andy Moran’s charges today.
One change to the Mayo team named to face Donegal.
And also just the one change for Donegal.
There were a couple of early games in Division 3 and 4. Currently, London lead Leitrim 1-6 to 1-1 in the lowest tier. In Division 3, Fermanagh trail Clare 0-4 to 1-4, while Wexford are enjoying a good start, as they lead Limerick 0-7 to 0-1, with about twenty minutes gone in each.
There was plenty of drama in Division 1 yesterday, as the Kingdom flew out to a huge lead, before gradually getting reeled back in late on in the second half.
Galway come from 12 points down to snatch draw against Kerry
With a first win of the season against Monaghan last night, Dublin got two valuable points at the bottom of Division 1. Earlier this week, Malachy Clerkin looked at some of the problems with the current Dubs setup and how they might bounce back to their former glory.
Poor structures, underage failures and ageing stars: Why has the Dublin conveyor belt stopped?
Seán Moran gives his predictions for the week’s action, with a focus on today’s west coast clash between Donegal and Mayo in Division 1.
