From romantic getaways and surprise goodbyes to big life decisions and family milestones, it’s been another eventful week in Kerry Katona’s world.
What was meant to be a dreamy first Valentine’s Day in Dubai with boyfriend Paolo quickly turned into a solo trip under the sun after a sudden work emergency called him back to the UK. But if there’s one thing Kerry proves time and time again, it’s that she knows how to turn lemons into lemonade – even if that means spending the most romantic day of the year poolside with her emails!
In this week’s column, Kerry opens up about the highs and lows of her whirlwind trip, reveals why Dubai has got her seriously considering a major move abroad with her children, and shares her thoughts on why celebs are flocking to the UAE…

DUBAI DISASTER
Paolo and I travelled to Dubai for a romantic getaway for our first Valentine’s Day, where we had a mega-quick 20-minute catch up with Katie Price and her husband Lee. But unfortunately, during the trip, Paolo had to go back to the UK for a work emergency. I got to spend literally 14 hours with him before he had to leave, which meant I was left alone in Dubai, which we were both gutted about.

A BIG MOVE?
I can see why so many celebrities move to Dubai. It’s definitely somewhere I’d consider moving to. It’s safe, clean, it’s lovely, everyone looks after each other – in fact I could probably see myself living there this time next year. And my children would come with me.
Kate and Rio Ferdinand moved there last August and I can see why she might be struggling like she mentioned last week – sometimes it does take time to adapt.

HEIDI’S BIRTHDAY
We’re off to celebrate my Heidi‘s 19th birthday this weekend. I can’t believe how old she is getting! Time flies so fast. We’ve got her tickets to go and watch Magic Mike Live. Me and Paolo are not going to the actual show – she’s going to go with her friends. But then we’re all going to head out for a nice dinner together.

MISS YOU!
Of course I missed the kids while I was away, but I don’t think the kids were missing me as I barely heard from them while I was out in Dubai! My youngest, Dylan-Jorge, is obviously in school at the moment and the rest were all fine. I spent the time by myself, sitting by the pool and going through emails, trying to catch up on work in the sunshine.

VALENTINE’S DAY
It looked like I would be spending Valentine’s Day in Dubai alone because of Paolo’s work emergency, and I was thinking, it’s just one day in a year – we can celebrate our love for one another every other day, like we do anyway. The silver lining was me sunbathing and making the most of some down time before heading on tour with Abba Mia in May. But then I had a change of heart and decided to fly home early to be with him. As I write, I don’t know what he’s got up his sleeve, but I don’t care, as long as we’re together.
