Coronation Street spoilers follow from Tuesday’s episode (17 February), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.

Coronation Street’s newest schemer Jodie Ramsey strikes again tonight – by slyly encouraging creepy Mal Roper to keep pursuing Bernie Winter-Alahan. Are the residents any closer to discovering just how dangerous Jodie can be?

Jodie’s latest sneaky move comes purely out of spite, as she’s unhappy after being told off by Bernie during a shift at the café. Tensions flare up when Jodie serves Brian Packham with the wrong toastie, which causes a stressed-out Bernie to snap.

It’s no surprise that Bernie isn’t her usual self – she’s still grieving following the recent death of Billy Mayhew and dealing with resurfaced memories of her late son Paul Foreman. Mal’s constant presence on the cobbles is also affecting Bernie, as she fears that he’ll tell her husband Dev about their wild night together.

As Jodie seethes over Bernie pulling rank at the café, she notices her colleague’s obvious irritation around Mal.

Even when Bernie later apologises for her lack of patience, Jodie decides that her new target deserves to pay…

During a private chat on the Street later, Jodie stirs things up by making Mal believe that Bernie has a secret soft spot for him.

“She said that she was really touched that you cared,” Jodie lies. “She lights up around you, honestly. Well, as bright as she gets – but I reckon you definitely add a few watts to her LED…”

Mal seems delighted as he walks off, full of enthusiasm over a potential future with Bernie.

This comes just as Mal has been feigning interest in crystals and angel cards, hoping to bond with Bernie over some of her biggest interests.

Spoilers for next week’s episodes have already revealed that Mal’s bad behaviour around Bernie goes into overdrive next week – culminating in him being attacked.

Bernie is arrested for the crime and strongly protests her innocence, but is she telling the truth?

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
