While it is clear that Ireland have plenty to work on the basis of their opening two games in this year’s Six Nations, they will not have much time to do so ahead of this weekend’s game against England.
The removal of one of the two break weeks in this year’s championship will see Andy Farrell’s men play for a third successive weekend on Saturday. With this being new ground in the championship, it will be interesting to see how both teams react.
England certainly do not look like the force many tipped them to be ahead of the championship, with last week’s loss in Scotland a reminder that they are not quite the juggernaut some in the English media had deemed them to be.
Still, they will provide a stern test for Ireland on Saturday afternoon.

England will enter this weekend’s game as favourites. In saying that, it will be interesting to see if potential complacency will be an issue for the team once again after their horror display at Murrayfield.
Those across the Irish Sea certainly seem to remain confident of a positive result.
Speaking on The Good, The Bad & The Rugby, former England villain Mike Brown said he expected his former team to be ‘too strong’ for Ireland in this game.
I think they’ll be too strong for Ireland.
I just think they’ll come out flying. It’s at Twickenham, which helps them. I think they’ll be massively up for it, especially the forwards who will be so up for making a point.
Where are Ireland in terms of their development, I just think they will be too strong in the end. It won’t be easy…
England are further on in their development, so they should absolutely be winning that game in my opinion. It’s about how they bounce back in those opening exchanges.
Ireland are going to know that England are looking to bounce back at Twickenham and the atmosphere to help them do that. They need to negate that atmosphere and kill it as quick as possible.
I just don’t think Ireland, if they’re not strong up front, they won’t be able to live with England’s pack and how pumped up they will be.
The England supporters will certainly be expecting a win against Ireland, but it’s interesting to see that confidence has not been knocked all that much despite the loss against Scotland.
As to whether that stance is the correct one to take, all will be revealed on Saturday afternoon.
