Several Status Yellow warnings have come into effect across the country as the National Directorate for Fire and Emergency Management (NDFEM) has said the whole country is vulnerable to flooding over the next 24 hours.
The warning comes regardless of whether a formal weather warning is in effect, the NDFEM added.
A Status Yellow wind warning for counties Wexford, Wicklow, Dublin, Meath and Louth came into effect at 11pm last night and will remain in place until 1pm today.
Met Éireann said strong and gusty southeasterly winds combined with high tides may lead to difficult travelling conditions as well as fallen trees and loose debris.
Meanwhile, a Status Yellow rain warning is also in place for all of Leinster, as well as counties Cavan, Monaghan, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford.
That warning came into effect at 11pm last night and will elapse at 11pm tonight.

The forecaster also issued a Status Yellow rain and snow warning for Donegal, which came into effect at 2am and remains in place until 2pm today.
Met Éireann have warned that rain will be heavy and turn to sleet or snow at times leading to poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions.
The NDFEM has urged the public to be alert for flooding as the situation can change very quickly and even small amounts of rain could result in significant impacts in areas where river levels are high, or where the ground is already saturated.
“Local authorities and Transport Infrastructure Ireland will be active and responding in the affected areas, and the need may arise to close some roads due to flooding.
“All motorists should follow all traffic instructions put in place. Driving during heavy rain is a significant risk, and motorists should take considerable care when travelling, remaining conscious of the road conditions at all times,” the emergency group added in a statement.
In Northern Ireland, the UK Met Office has issued a Status Yellow rain and snow warning for Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Derry, which is set to come into effect at 4am this morning and will expire at 8pm tonight.
They said that outbreaks of rain, hill snow and strong winds may bring some disruption to travel.
