Ireland’s women will return to the Aviva Stadium for a sixth time later this year against Poland, their main rivals for their targeted third-placed finish in a tough Nations League A/World Cup qualification group that also includes France and the Netherlands.
And boss Carla Ward insisted that she pushed to host favourites France in their opener at Tallaght on March 3, a tie that might have attracted a larger crowd to the Aviva than the Polish.
