“Some people say I’m like a swan. Floating calmly on the surface while the legs are going a mile a minute underneath,” Suzie McAdam says. She’s sitting in the living room of her recently renovated Regency-style Georgian home in Dublin with views of the coast, looking very calm indeed despite her mammoth workload. It’s a home some might recognise from the pages of Arch Digest, having recently made quite a splash.

As a designer, she is known for taking big swings, none more so than her own home. There was definitely freedom – no client briefs pinning her down – which allowed her to play.
