Irish screen stars will return to Dublin this weekend for the Irish Academy Awards, hosted by Kevin McGahern this Friday 20th February.
The ceremony, presented by the Irish Film & Television Academy, promises to be a major homecoming for Irish actors and filmmakers, celebrating the remarkable success of Ireland’s creative talent and honouring achievements both in front of and behind the camera.
Ciarán Hinds will also receive the IFTA Lifetime Achievement Award, surrounded by family, friends, and industry peers.
The awards will take place on Friday 20th February at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre and will be broadcast on RTÉ One this Saturday 21st February at 10.50pm.
Irish screen stars already confirmed to attend include Oscar-nominated Jessie Buckley (nominated for her award-winning performance in Hamnet), along with Cillian Murphy (Steve), Steve Coogan (Saipan), Jonathan Rhys Meyers (star of The Tudors), Aidan Quinn (The Walsh Sisters), Alison Oliver (star of Wuthering Heights and Task), Anthony Boyle, Danielle Galligan, Jack Gleeson, Fionn O’Shea (House of Guinness), Peter Claffey (star of Game of Thrones: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms), Niamh Algar (The Iris Affair), Lola Petticrew (Trespasses), Louisa Harland, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell (Leonard & Hungry Paul), Siobhán Cullen (Obituary), Genevieve O’Reilly (Andor), Lisa McGee and Roisin Gallagher (How To Get To Heaven From Belfast).
