Shelbourne manager Joey O’Brien says his support for the Palestinian cause is “unwavering” and is adamant that the Republic of Ireland’s fixtures against Israel in the Nations League later this year should not be played even though sanctions from Uefa could hit the FAI hard.

And the Reds boss has joined in expressing sympathy for Drogheda United co-chair Joanna Byrne and her right to express her opinion after the US-based owners of the club tried to force her off the board due to her public stance on the Israel/Gaza issue.
