Scotty T’s “bleak” bank statements have been revealed after his court appearance this week. The Geordie Shore star, 37, pleaded guilty on Friday to illegally promoting financial products on Instagram along with six other famous faces.
The finances of Scotty – real name Scott Timlin – were exposed as he appeared at Southwark Crown Court alongside Towie star, Lauren Goodger, and Love Island’s Jamie Clayton.
In grim listening for Scotty, his lawyer described the new dad’s bank balance as “bleak”, adding that the TV star is relying on his mum to top up his earnings from X-rated sharing site, OnlyFans.

Laura Miller, representing Scotty, said his yearly income was around £34,000, explaining: “Mr Timlin is not a man of extensive means. He earns money via an agent but also does receive other money for example an OnlyFans.
“For the last 12 months his yearly income was around £34,000. As often said there is the Instagram world and the reality. Mr Timlin’s bank statements make it very clear the lifestyle he lives in the public eye is not the lifestyle he actually does lead.”
She also said he relies on extra money sent by his mother.
Ms Miller continued: ”He made his name on Geordie Shore and won Celebrity Big Brother but that was as far back as 2016. Although he’s done some TV work since Geordie Shore ended in 2019 those were the programmes he made his name from.
“He now relies extensively on the promotional world being paid to attend bars and nightclubs for events.” She also said his opening and closing balances for the last three months “make for bleak reading”.
In total seven reality stars – who also included TOWIE’s Yazmin Oukhellou and Love Islanders Biggs Chris, Jamie Clayton and Eva Zapico – pleaded guilty to plugging foreign exchange trading on their personal accounts.
They urged their “significant” Instagram following, built up from their appearances on hit shows, to sign up to an account offering FX trading tips and were acting as ‘finfluencers’, despite having no qualifications or authorisation from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Southwark Crown Court heard.
Former Big Brother winner Scotty was paid £900 for three video posts to his 2.7 million followers. He was fined £938 with a £93 victim surcharge.
Meanwhile, TOWIE’s Yasmin paid £400 to make a post about the scheme to her 550,000 followers on social media. “You were reckless, you lended yourself to a scheme about which you knew nothing and you took no steps to find out about it,” the judge said, ordering her to pay a £974 fine with a £97 victim surcharge.
