Limerick picked up their second win of the National League season on Saturday evening.
John Kiely’s men had fifteen points to spare over All Ireland champions Tipperary at Semple Stadium with the game finishing up 0-36 to 0-21 in favour of the visitors.
Limerick showed their intent from the start as they raced into an nine points lead midway through the first half on an 0-11 to 0-2 scoreline.
The gap was thirteen at the break with Limerick’s young guns leading the charge, Aidan O’Connor notched 0-7 with Shane O’Brien scoring 0-3 while Adam English chipped in with two points. While the hosts missed a penalty with the last play before the short whistle.
Tipperary were reduced to fourteen men just seconds into the second half when Willie Connors was shown a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Darragh O’Donovan.
Limerick continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over in the second half putting over sixteen more points with the man advantage.
Next up for John Kiely’s men is a trip to O’Connor Park to take on Offaly.
