Economist Dr Alan Ahearne has said Ireland is entering “a period of uncertainty” in the wake of a US Supreme Court ruling that has torpedoed Donald Trump’s tariff plans.

Speaking to the Sunday Independent, Dr Ahearne, former economic adviser to Taoiseach Micheál Martin, said the “immediate impact” of the ruling will only have a “modest” effect on Ireland until President Trump plots his next move.
