Married At First Sight bride Gia Fleur has issued an apology for her behaviour on the Channel 9 show this week. The 35-year-old disability support worker has spoken out days after fellow bride Brook Crompton tried to make similar amends for what happened at Wednesday night’s dinner party episode.

Gia’s apology was focused on Stella and Alissa, two brides who copped a lot of heat at the dinner table that night. They were individually called out for being a “ratchet idiot” with “stripper boots” and horrible hair extensions.

The mum’s behaviour hasn’t gone down well with viewers, with a poll of more than 1,600 Yahoo Lifestyle readers finding 96 per cent aren’t a fan of Gia’s.

“To Alissa and Stella… I’m genuinely sorry for the way I handled myself that night and throughout the experiment,” Gia said in a statement issued on Instagram on Saturday.

“Regardless of what was said or heard, my delivery and my behaviour was appalling.

“I apologise for the disgusting language and way made you both feel. I’m deeply sorry for the hurt have caused you both and I wish you both nothing but peace moving forward.”

Gia added that she’s now trying to move on from what happened as that episode was filmed in August and there has been a lot of growth since then.

On that episode, she also revealed to bride Bec that her husband, Danny, told her that she was his usual type. Danny insisted that wasn’t true and begged his wife not to believe what Gia said.

But the admission caused a huge row at the dinner table and Bec stormed out not knowing who to believe.

Gia also addressed Bec in her social media post and how she treated her cast mate during the show.

“Continuing to go back and forth about Bec and Danny, or revisiting who said what, doesn’t feel healthy for me anymore,” she said.

“I’m choosing to focus on growth. On being a better person. On working on myself privately. On being a present and loving mum, and a supportive partner. That’s where my energy is going.”

‘I’m not a chicken’ – Gia hits out at rumour

Gia’s post also addressed whether she would appear on Stan’s MAFS: After The Dinner Party show.

The official post-MAFS show premieres weekly after Wednesday night’s episodes and is hosted by Jules Lund, Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne.

The trio has already invited a few 2026 cast members on to explain their side of the story, dish the dirt on what really went down, and also air unseen footage.

This week saw the likes of Alissa, Stella, Chris and Danny have a chat with the hosts.

Gia has now explained whether she will appear on the spin-off show amid rumours she pulled out at the last minute.

“Last week I was invited to appear and flew to Sydney with every intention of attending,” she said.

“Unfortunately, I was admitted to hospital due to being unwell and wasn’t able to go ahead. I didn’t ‘chicken out’ I simply prioritised my health at the time.

“I’ve since been invited back to comment on others behaviour.

“After reflecting on my own behaviour at the dinner party, I don’t feel it’s appropriate or aligned for me to sit there and critique anyone else. It wouldn’t feel authentic for me to call out other people’s actions as a way of deflecting from my own.”

MAFS’ impact on Gia and her family

Gia’s apology comes after she revealed this week how impactful the Channel 9 show has had on her now that episodes are finally airing on national television.

While it seems the experts matched her perfectly with groom Scott McCristal, she told SEN Radio‘s The Run Home with Joel and Fletch that it’s had a particular effect on her eight-year-old daughter.

“It’s just a bit hard for her,” she said.

“[She’s] coming home crying saying, ‘Somebody picked on me and said that your mum’s this and that’. And I’m just like, ‘Oh my God’, because she’s never seen this side of me.

“I’m not like this in day-to-day life.

“I don’t walk down the street and call somebody a name, like it’s just not how I am.

“So, yeah, it’s just been very confronting, and just having to console her and try and deal with it myself.”

When asked whether she regretted going on the popular TV show she said “100 million per cent”.

Gia admitted that she didn’t actually think about the realities of being on the program and how it might impact her and her daughter’s life once the cameras stopped rolling.

“I had a very quiet life before,” she said. “Being a mum for me is my number one priority.

“If I could go back in time, I probably wouldn’t have gone on MAFS.”

Viewers have repeatedly expressed concern online for the daughter’s welfare due to her mother’s involvement in the show.
