Question: My best friend growing up came from a poor family. We were both into music way before our peers – this bonded us early on and we stayed friends when we went to secondary school.
He spent a huge amount of time in my family home and was always welcome. My parents included him in the dinner pot and for some reason never minded the loud music – as a parent myself now, I’m not sure I would be as tolerant.
