Fresh from its successful showcase at Indie Fan Fest, Nagai Industries and publisher Beep Japan Inc. are thrilled to announce that the game will join Steam Next Fest, kicking off today, February 23, 2026. Players can now download a newly

updated demo that delivers even more polish, warmth, and immersion to this beloved cozy konbini experience.

Inspired by a small-town Japanese convenience store of the early 1990s, inKONBINI invites players to step into the shoes of Makoto Hayakawa, a college student filling in for her aunt at the Honki-Ponki konbini. Through gentle store management, heartfelt conversations with regulars, and subtle choices that ripple outward, the game celebrates the quiet magic of everyday connections and nostalgic routines.

The updated Steam Next Fest demo refines the core loop with smoother interactions, enhanced pacing, and a more welcoming atmosphere, making each shift feel even more meditative and emotionally engaging. Whether returning for another visit or trying the game for the first time, players will find a deeper sense of calm and flow behind the counter.

New Demo – A Warmer Welcome, A Smoother Flow

Launching as part of Steam Next Fest Spring, the updated demo introduces a range of improvements aimed at enhancing the overall feel of each shift. From refined interactions to a more comfortable gameplay rhythm, the experience has been carefully tuned to better reflect the calm, meditative pace of life inside the konbini. 

Whether it’s your first time stepping behind the counter or a return visit, the new demo offers a more seamless and emotionally resonant way to experience the store and the stories that pass through it.

Teasing a Cozy Wardrobe Upgrade

We’re also delighted to reveal an exciting new feature on the horizon: an expanded outfit system for Makoto. This addition lets players customize her konbini uniform with subtle, era-appropriate variations, offering light personal expression while keeping the grounded, authentic feel of daily life in the store. More details will follow as development progresses toward the planned April 2026 release.
