Tom Felton’s recent venture into wacky comedy is about to make its way to streaming.

Hailing from the comedic team of Patrick and Jimmy Carr, the Dawson Brothers and Tim Inman, Fackham Hall served as a parody send-up of classic British dramas, particularly Downton Abbey and Gosford Park, revolving around a wealthy family who, in the midst of planning a wedding, are rocked by a murder. Felton stars in the film as the uncouth cousin, Archibald, to Thomasin McKenzie’s Poppy, whom she’s arranged to marry in order to keep the titular manor in her family’s name.

Now, some two months after the film hit theaters, Fackham Hall is about to begin streaming. The period comedy, which has thus far only been available for rental or purchase on digital platforms after its December debut, will premiere on HBO Max on March 6.

With an ensemble cast also including Billions’ Damian Lewis, Trap’s Hayley Mills, Masters of the Air’s Ben Radcliffe and The Agency’s Katherine Waterston, Fackham Hall instantly became a sensation with critics and audiences alike thanks to its zany pace and throwback to other such parody classics as The Naked Gun and Airplane!. The film even has near-identical scores from critics and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, with the former netting it a 74% “Certified Fresh” approval rating and the latter at 75%.

Though still best remembered for his turn as Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter franchise, Fackham Hall marked a notable continuation of Felton’s exploration of new genres. The 15 years since his time on the fantasy movie series came to an end, Felton has starred in everything from such period dramas as Belle and Ophelia to the Chadwick Boseman-led action-thriller Message from the King and Netflix’s family horror-comedy A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting.

Unlike some of his prior genre-mixing work, Fackham Hall was Felton’s most direct comedic work to date, and by far his most outrageous. From numerous double entendres, including the title of the film itself, to dialogue bait and switches and visual gags mocking everything from Fifty Shades of Gray to the post-Edwardian era of the United Kingdom, Felton got the opportunity to cut loose more than most prior roles.

Tom Felton and the rest of the Fackham Hall cast and director Jim O’Hanlon talk their period comedy and poking fun at the Downton Abbey-like genre.

Beyond just finally getting a streaming home, Fackham Hall landing on HBO Max in March nets it a perfect place for fans of Felton. In addition to the aforementioned Harry Potter franchise being available on the WarnerMedia streamer, HBO Max is also home to the biographical dramas A United Kingdom and Megan Leavey, as well as the comedy Get Him to the Greek, in which he made a cameo as himself.

Additionally, Fackham Hall debuting on streaming in March comes right in time for Felton’s next big-screen venture with They Will Kill You. The action horror-comedy sees Felton starring as a member of a Satanic cult who inhabit a classic New York high-rise and are hunting a newly hired housekeeper, who is turning the tables on them in the same vein as Ready or Not. With there being a few weeks between Fackham Hall’s streaming debut and They Will Kill You’s March 27 release, the period parody could become a hit.
