Each year around 600 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in Ireland – and while the figures are relatively low, so too are the survival rates, with only around 10pc of patients surviving beyond five years of diagnosis.

Mum-of-two Olivia Maher knows only too well how aggressive pancreatic cancer be, as her beloved mother Goretti lost her battle with the disease last September.
