Ireland West and Donegal airport are set to benefit from a 45 million euro investment in the country’s regional airports over the next four years.
Transport Minister Darragh O’Brien will bring the proposals to Cabinet this morning.
Minister Darragh O’Brien says it will help balance regional development, while also funding new safety and security initiatives.
The investment will also support sustainability projects and help the regional airports meet their carbon emission targets.
A new daily route between Derry and Dublin will also be launched as part of the Government’s public service obligation air services. It’s expected to begin taking passengers later this year.
