It was May 1999 and TFI Friday had a Spice Girl in the house. It was Posh Spice herself, Victoria Adams, then just two months shy of her lavish Dublin wedding to David Beckham. She had given birth to her first child, Brooklyn, just 10 weeks before.
Host Chris Evans was in typically buoyant mood, and he was determined to deliver an interview to remember. He did just that when he produced a weighing scales and asked Victoria to step on it to see if her post-pregnancy weight was “back to normal”. She looked visibly uncomfortable, but reluctantly agreed to the request. “Eight stone,” Evans announced. “It’s not bad at all, is it?”
