Coronation Street fans think they know the reason for what they called an ‘odd’ scene featuring Jodie Ramsey after she was revealed as a potential victim of an upcoming murder.
It was only in January that the new character arrived in Weatherfield, revealing herself to be the long-lost sister of Shona Platt, and she’s already trying to ruffle feathers for her sibling and her family.
As those who follow the ITV soap know, Jodie was actually first seen tied up in the back of a van being driven by Emmerdale returnee Graham Foster as the two long-running shows joined forces for a historic crossover episode, dubbed Corriedale.

While not directly involved in the horror crash that unfolded between the residents of Weatherfield and the Dales, Jodie did end up injured as she escaped and tried to get away from DC Kit Green. She was later seen at the hospital, which is where she unexpectedly found Shona and her husband, David Platt.
Jodie was soon reunited with her sister and has since inserted herself into the Platt family, after David invited her to stay at No.8 Coronation Street. Things have since developed and having been reunited with their dad, Doug, with Jodie now keen to keep the pair apart.
As fans know, Jodie isn’t to be trusted and is seemingly hiding deep dark secrets, while also trying to replace her sister when it comes to her life with David and the kids.
But it was recently confirmed that Jodie could be one of five Weatherfield residents who could be killed in upcoming scenes. Scenes that will also feature in Corrie in two months time were featured in an episode of the long-running show last week. The flashforward showed a shocked and anxious Betsy Swain telling detectives about finding the dead body of someone she knows.
Dressed in wedding clothes, she explained she had been at her mum Lisa Swain’s and Carla Connor’s wedding, but was heading into town to continue the celebrations when she made the shocking discovery.
As the episode returned to the present day, Corrie viewers started to see how the behaviour of the five characters could lead to their possible death – with Jodie, Megan Walsh, Theo Silverton, Maggie Driscoll and Carl Webster seen as the potential victims.
During the latest visit to the cobbles on Tuesday (February 24), Corrie fans were quick to note Jodie’s interaction with Betsy, something which hadn’t happened on the street previously. Betsy introduced herself to a startled Jodie, who had just got rid of Olivia, a schoolgirl she used to look after.

They exchanged pleasantries before Betsy asked about Shona and David’s daughter, Harper. But Jodie was keen to leave and made excuses about needing to get David the dog on his walk.
But as mentioned, the scene caught Corrie viewers’ attention. @Izzy1728047 said: “Betsy’s interaction with Jodie was a little odd but interesting. Is it possible over the coming weeks Betsy will have an interaction with each of the villains? As she is the one that discovers the body and its setting the scene for that? #Corrie.”
@meg_20242 replied: “Definitely gave me the instant ‘oh so it’s Jodie that dies’ but could be wrong.” @d_a_v_e_m_a commented: “100%, I think she’ll probably gradually get quite friendly with maybe all of them.” @Emlyn23 shared: “Was thinking that when she just appeared……..I thought she barely knew any of them when the police interview was shown……so as you say, she could interact with them all. @Louise101050 added: “Betsy interaction with Jodie was a bit pointless, but I suspect it’s all to do with the who dies storyline and Betsy is going to have a scene with each suspected murder victim. #corrie.”
