Limerick trio Kingfishr have revealed they headed to the hills of Donegal for a new music video, which is out this Friday.

The band teamed up with Belfast actor Anthony Boyle for the production, which was shot at the Grianán of Aileach stone fort in Inishowen and in Derry by local filmmaker Sean Patrick Mullan.

Anthony Boyle, fresh from winning Best Lead Actor for House of Guinness at the IFTAs, is sure to add some incredible gravitas to the video for ‘The Blade’.

Kingfishr said the project is “something we’re very proud of”.

Fans will remember Boyle and band members, Eddie Keogh, Eoghan ‘McGoo’ McGrath and Eoin ‘Fitz’ Fitzgibbon, out on the town in Derry just two weeks ago.

Kingfishr delighted punters at Peadar O’Donnell’s pub when they performed a few tunes.

A video of the live gig at Peadar O’Donnell’s was put on the pub’s Facebook page, garnering 130,000 views.

Their time in the north west also included dining at Asian fusion restaurant Umi on the Strand Road.
