February may be drab and dreary, but that doesn’t mean your social calendar has to be! Thankfully, Dublin has a variety of educational, entertaining, and even competitive things happening across the county this weekend.
Pop-up Market at Hen’s Teeth
On Saturday and Sunday, Hen’s Teeth is hosting their pop-up Art Mart from 9am to 5pm. The event will be running in the Blackpitts space, hosting a range of independent Irish artists, including Aoife Dooley, Holly Pereira, Domino Whisker, and Gavin Connell.
Quizhost Ireland Big Screen Movie Quiz

Running from Thursday, 26 February 2026 – Thursday, 23 July 2026, the Quizhost Ireland Big Screen Movie Quiz will take place every fourth Thursday at Cleary’s Pub in Dublin 1. Think you know your Scorsese from your Spielberg? Come and test your cinematic knowledge. Doors open at 7:30pm. Tickets cost €10 per person.
GCN’s So You Think You Can Drag
On Friday, 27 February, GCN is bringing their fundraising amateur drag competition So You Think You Can Drag back to The George from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Hosted once again by the fabulous Davina Devine, the unmissable event will see notable figures from the queer community competing for the crown, all while raising much-needed funds in support of Ireland’s free national LGBTQ+ media. This event is a fundraiser for GCN (a trading name of the National LGBT Federation CLG, Registered Charity Number: 20034580) and is proudly supported by The George and Absolut.
Dublin International Film Festival 2026

Running from 19 February – 1 March 2026, the Dublin International Film Festival will take place at the Light House Cinema, with a mix of screenings, world premieres, red carpet events, and Q&As with industry professionals. Browse the full programme of events here.
Running until Tuesday, 31 March 2026, the National Photographic Archive is hosting an exhibition featuring more than seventy photographs and images from the Band Aid Trust Archive, generously donated to the National Library of Ireland (NLI) in 2017. This visual journey of the Live Aid concerts, capturing the behind-the-scenes preparations, atmosphere and iconic performances by bands and artists on both sides
Scene and Heard: The Festival of New Work

Running until 28 February at Dublin’s Smock Alley Theatre, the Scene and Heard Festival of New Work sees creatives from across the country perform their work-in-progress shows. Theatre, dance, comedy, spoken word, rehearsed readings, drag, poetry, puppetry, visual art and more will be on offer. You can see the full programme of events here.
