A body has been recovered following a search operation at Slieve League in south west Donegal.
The remains were recovered by rescue services on Wednesday.
The search began on Tuesday evening following reports of a missing person.
Killybegs Coast Guard was tasked to the area and an initial search was carried out by Rescue 118 with assistance from An Garda Síochána and coordination from Malin Head Coast Guard station.
The search resumed at first light on Wednesday morning.
The Rescue 118 helicopter crew identified an area of significance. The Bunbeg Coast Guard Drone Team was subsequently deployed to provide aerial coverage of the search area.
Killybegs Coast Guard climbing team later located the casualty and safely transferred them to the top of the summit, where a doctor later pronounced them as deceased.
“Killybegs Coast Guard wish to express their sympathy to the deceased person’s family,” a spokesperson said.
“We wish to thank R118, An Garda Siochana, Bunbeg Coast Guard Drone Team for their assistance and cooperation during the search.
“If you see anyone in difficulty and in need of assistance in the water or on shore call 112 or 999 and ask for the Coast Guard.”
