Dromore National School in Killygordon has this afternoon been crowned winners in their category at the VEX Robotics All-Ireland Championships in Cork.

The brainy east Donegal boys and girls were also recipients of the Skills Award and the Teamwork Award, an extraordinary achievement!

“It’s a very proud day for the children, staff and parents of Dromore National School,” they posted on their social media channels.

“A huge congratulations and well done to our wonderfully talented and dedicated children and to everyone who supported them along the way. Your hard work, commitment and team spirit have really paid off.”

The school also thanked Chris for his help, and Aurivo for their sponsorship of the effort.

The team will now go on to represent Ireland in the VEX Robotics World Championship which will be held in St. Louis, Missouri, in the US in April.

The STEM competition challenges students in a variety of areas, encouraging the development of teamwork, collaboration and time-management skills.
