Dearest gentle reader, the wait is finally over.

Part 2 of Bridgerton Season 4 is now streaming on Netflix, and fans are rushing back into the world of Regency romance. This season shifts the spotlight to Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson, and his sweeping love story with Sophie Baek, portrayed by Yerin Ha.

And yes — the moment fans have been waiting for has arrived.

The Bath Scene That Had Fans Holding Their Breath

Season 4 draws heavy inspiration from Julia Quinn’s beloved novel An Offer from a Gentleman. Among the most anticipated scenes from the book was the intimate moment where Benedict and Sophie share a bath — a scene that blends romance, vulnerability, and deep emotional connection.

In Episode 8, that moment finally comes to life on screen.

Speaking to ABC Audio, Ha revealed that filming the scene was not as glamorous as it looked.

“There were so many logistical obstacles we had to overcome that I think we just tried to have as much fun with it as possible,” Ha said. “Very quickly the pressure of getting it right and the pressure of making sure the fans were happy with it was put off to the side because we were thinking, ‘How do I stay above water?’”

Thompson jokingly added, “How do I not drown?”

No Pressure From the Books

While longtime readers of Quinn’s novels had high expectations, Thompson said he didn’t feel weighed down by fan pressure.

“Bridgerton is absolutely a show that wants to meet the fans where they are,” Thompson explained. “But it’s also a show that’s trying to surprise people and bring them where they don’t expect. I don’t feel that pressure because it’s not our job to deliver what people want. Our job is just to tell this story in the way that we can.”

That mindset may be exactly why the scene feels so natural. Instead of trying to copy the book word-for-word, the actors focused on telling the emotional truth of Benedict and Sophie’s relationship.

A Fairy-Tale Romance With a Modern Twist

Season 4 leans fully into a fairy-tale tone. Benedict, long known as the free-spirited Bridgerton sibling, finally meets a love that challenges and grounds him. Sophie’s story brings themes of identity, class differences, and resilience into the spotlight.

Their relationship builds slowly, making the bath scene feel earned rather than forced. It is tender, emotional, and deeply romantic — everything fans expect from Bridgerton.

With Part 2 now available, viewers can finally see how Benedict and Sophie’s love story unfolds. And if early reactions are any sign, this chapter may become one of the series’ most talked-about romances yet.
