A former Kerry garda station was sold for €200,000 at auction yesterday.
Estate agents ERA Downey McCarthy brought the former Brosna garda station to the market by public auction, which was held yesterday.
The detached, two-storey station in the middle of the village closed in January 2013 and was transferred to the OPW.
State bodies were offered the site in the 13 years since, but none pursued an acquisition, although Kerry County Council considered it twice.
Bids started at €115,000 at yesterday’s online auction, before rising to €200,000 in the space of 35 minutes.
