Norway selects for Vienna on Saturday night
HOW TO WATCH: Melodi Grand Prix starts at 19:45 on Saturday 28 February. Broadcaster NRK will be streaming the show on their website, which will be open for international viewers to watch, too.

We’re off to HÃ¥kons Hall in Lillehammer (the same venue that hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2004!) on Saturday night, as Markus Neby, Marte Stokstad and Ronny Brede Aase guide us through the 2026 edition of Norway’s long-running Eurovision pre-selection Melodi Grand Prix.
Nine artists have been selected to take part in MGP 2026, including one performer who has won the Eurovision Song Contest before – Moscow 2009 champion Alexander Rybak.

The winner of Melodi Grand Prix 2025 was the song Lighter performed by Kyle Alessandro.
At the 69th Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Kyle’s fiery performance took Norway to the Grand Final, where Lighter finished in 18th place.
