The family of a Castlegar GAA player who underwent a major surgery have issued an update following the operation.
Murt Connolly recently underwent a surgery and his family have confirmed that he is in “good spirits”.
They also thanked the local community as a mass was held for Murt last week.
The family called on locals to “continue keeping him in your prayers as he faces the challenges ahead.”
While Murt remains in good spirits, the family added that he “knows there’s still a long road ahead”.
In a statement posted to the Castlegar Instagram page, they said: “The Connolly Family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and support during Murt’s surgery at St. James this week.
“While he’s in good spirits, he knows there’s still a long road to recovery ahead.
“The family truly appreciate everyone who attended the mass and ask that you continue keeping him in your prayers as he faces the challenges ahead.
“Go raibh mÃle maith agaibh.”
A mass was held for him on February 20 at Castlegar Church.
