How Masterwork Research Sparkle and Shine in Pokémon Go works
Masterwork Research: Sparkle and Shine is the Masterwork Research released as part of Go Tour Kalos: Global in February 2026 and gives you the chance to catch shiny Diancie.
Accessing this quest requires purchasing the Go Tour Kalos: Global ticket, which costs £9.99 or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency. This is a nonrefundable purchase and can not be done using PokéCoins. Since this is an event ticket, it also means you won’t be able to purchase this Masterwork quest after Go Tour Kalos: Global ends. Hopefully Sparkle and Shine will return at a later date but, for now, you need to purchase this event ticket if you want shiny Diancie.
Outside of being pay-to-play, Sparkle and Shine works exactly the same as any other Pokémon Go quest. You’ll be given a set of tasks to complete – each with its own reward alongside the overall quest step reward – and completing them allows you to move onto the next step. This process is repeated until there’s no quest left! The only thing you need to keep in mind is that Masterwork quests take far longer to complete compared to regular quests. It could take weeks, it could take months…
Best of luck catching shiny Diancie!
