Bressie has shared his heartbreak after revealing he and his long-term girlfriend Louize Carroll suffered a pregnancy loss.

The Blizzards frontman – whose real name is Niall Breslin – has ben dating Louize since around 2020 after they met through Jigsaw, a charity that supports mental health in young people.

Louize, who is a chartered psychologist, joined the band and began playing the bass guitar and singing vocals for the group.

The couple tend to keep their relationship private – but Bressie has decided to open up about a heartbreaking time Louize suffered a miscarrigae.

In his new book, The Place That Has Never Been Wounded, Bressie reveals the moment they discovered in the maternity hospital that they had lost their baby.

He writes in his book: ‘It was an enigma I struggled to grasp. To feel so utterly broken and, at the very same time, transcendentally tethered to another soul.’

‘I would trade sleep for the rest of my life if it meant carrying my baby out of this hospital,’ he writes.

Speaking to the Irish Independent, Bressie said he decided to speak about the couple’s pregnancy loss because it felt ‘cathartic.’

‘I wrote that because it was cathartic to write it. I wrote about it because it’s not just about grief…tt allowed me to go, “This is horrendous.”

‘Weirdly I get very, very focused in a crisis. Everyone’s looking for me to fall apart.’

But he said that after he becomes focused and deals with the crisis, he tends to ‘collapse for about three days.’

Bressie has previously credited Louize for helping him learn more about psychology as he called her ‘the most gifted’ people he’s ever met.

He added that she is a ‘proper rock star’ and has a ‘wild streak’ in her that he loves.
