Pattie Boyd is one of the most famous rock star wives out there, and she’s still stunning at 81.
The English beauty, known for her marriages to Beatles legend George Harrison and musician Eric Clapton, is currently sharing photos from her vacation in Morocco and hasn’t changed all that much from her days palling around with some of music‘s biggest names. But as the world is eagerly waiting to see White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood in costume as Boyd in director Sam Mendes’ upcoming four-part Beatles biopic, it’s great to see the woman who inspired the character thriving in her eighties.
“Am loving Marrakesh. Back home soon..,” Boyd captioned her most recent photo, as she sat at a table with friends, dressed in a caftan.
Casting the Wives of the Beatles
Mendes has spoken about the arduous process of casting the Beatles’ wives for his upcoming project, currently titled The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event.
“Maureen, Linda, Yoko, and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right – and I’m thrilled that we’ve managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure,” Mendes said in a statement, USA Today reported.
On Oct. 31, Sony finally released the names of the actresses who had scored the coveted roles.
Shogun star Anna Sawai will play John Lennon‘s wife, Yoko Ono, while Mia McKenna-Bruce is set to star as Ringo Starr‘s first wife, Maureen Starkey. Saoirse Ronan will play Paul McCartney‘s wife, Linda McCartney. Boyd, of course, will be portrayed by beloved White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood.
“The Beatles changed my understanding of music. Pretty much, they made up my first memories,” Mendes said back in April, the publication continued. The project, comprising four films, is expected to be in production for over a year.
Who Will Play the Beatles?
Normal People star Paul Mescal is set to play McCartney, while Harris Dickinson of Babygirl will play John Lennon. Joseph Quinn, known for Stranger Things, will play Harrison, while Barry Keoghan, known for Saltburn, is set to play Starr, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed.
