Fans travelling to Ballyshannon for today’s National League game between Donegal and Galway have been issued advice for their journeys to and from Fr Tierney Park.

Gardaí are urging fans to use one of the many car parks located around the town before walking to the stadium.

An Garda Siochana say they will be placing traffic cones in areas where on-street parking is not permitted, and are reminding fans to note that it is only a 500m walk to the Fr. Tierney Park from the Market Yard and Saimer Court Car Parks, using the port access steps or path.

Fans can also utilise the substantial car parking space located at the Northwest Furniture retail park which is a 7-minute walk to the grounds.

Parking is limited at the Fr Tierney Park and will be primarily reserved for car pass holders, after which any remaining spaces will only be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

There will also be a temporary one-way system in place to access the area of the Rock for the duration of the game.

Any fans travelling from Galway via Sligo are being asked to use the Bundoran and Ballyshannon bypass, before turning off for Ballyshannon which will bring fans into town in the direction of the grounds.

They are advised to head in the direction of East Port, and look for parking along the East Port and on the Mart Road.

Alternatively, fans can travel to Ballyshannon via Finner and park in at the Northwest Interiors car park, with both options allowing Galway fans a quick exit onto the bypass to head home again.

All fans are also asked to follow signage and directions given by stewards and Gardaí.
