The Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom has been left in shock after learning who is expected to have a quick death in Avengers: Doomsday.
Marvel Studios has never been one to shy away from shocking fans with unexpected deaths in its Avengers movies. Phil Coulson died in the first movie, 2012’s Marvel’s The Avengers, followed by Quicksilver in 2015’s Age of Ultron, and half of every living species in 2018’s Infinity War. Iron Man then made the heroic sacrifice to stop Thanos in 2019’s Endgame.
Which rumored Avengers: Doomsday death has left the MCU fandom in shock?
Now, according to scoopers Charles Murphy and James Mack on X, Danny Ramirez‘s Joaquin Torres/Falcon will “unfortunately live for at least 5 minutes” in Avengers: Doomsday, which fans have taken to mean that the character will die pretty early on in the movie.
Falcon’s rumored death in Doomsday shocked the MCU fandom online, considering that the character is a pretty new addition to the shared universe. He has only appeared in two MCU projects — the 2021 limited series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and the 2025 film Captain America: Brave New World.
Joaquin Torres/Falcon now joins Tom Hiddleston’s Loki on the, so far short, list of MCU characters who have been reported to die in Avengers: Doomsday. Loki will reportedly die at the hands of Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, as he needs to eliminate the God of Mischief, who is now the overseer of the MCU Multiverse, to create Battleworld in Avengers: Secret Wars.
As always, all scoops and rumors should be taken with a grain of salt until officially confirmed or debunked by Marvel Studios. With that unlikely to happen, fans will have to wait until Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026, to see if there is any truth behind Falcon and Loki not making it out of the superhero crossover event alive.
