Sean “Diddy” Combs, who will now be released from prison earlier than anticipated, has something to celebrate.
Journalist Rob Shuter, who noted that he’s previously worked with the disgraced music mogul, reported in a Tuesday, March 3, post on his Naughty But Nice Substack that the 56-year-old has big plans for when he’s set free.
“He wants the biggest release party he’s ever thrown,” a source told Shuter. “Bigger than the White Parties. Bigger than anything. He wants it to feel like a coronation.”
Another insider said that the public shouldn’t expect for the Bad Boy Records founder to “disappear” upon his release from Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey (FCI Fort Dix), adding: “The second those gates open, he’ll be everywhere.”
On Monday, Page Six revealed that Combs’ prison release date has been pushed up from June 4, 2028, to April 25, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, seemingly after he was accepted into a drug-abuse rehabilitation program.
“Mr. Combs is an active participant in the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) and has taken his rehabilitation process seriously from the start,” Diddy’s rep said, per Naughty But Nice. “He is fully engaged in his work, focused on growth, and committed to positive change.”

Despite being sentenced to 50 months (or more than four years) in prison after he was found guilty on two counts of transportation for the purposes of prostitution, Combs “doesn’t think going to jail ends him,” a source told Shuter. “He thinks this refines him.”
“He believes the public loves a redemption arc,” an insider said. “And he’s planning his.”
It’s been reported that Combs currently lives in a dorm-room style dwelling with nine other men and that he works in the chapel library.
During his trial, Combs pleaded not guilty to the sex-related felonies and was found not guilty of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.
President Donald Trump told the New York Times in an interview published earlier this year that Combs wrote him a letter seeking a pardon, but the 79-year-old president said he will not consider granting it.
