The Pokémon 30th Anniversary event celebrates the thirtieth birthday of the franchise in Pokémon Go.

Running until Monday 9th March at 8pm (local time), this event gives you the chance to encounter nearly every Gen 1 Pokémon in the wild. You might even see a legendary bird… Alongside this, there’s the Pokémon 30th Anniversary: All Out event to look forward to over the weekend.

Pokémon 30th Anniversary field research tasks

Here are the Pokémon 30th Anniversary event-exclusive field research tasks:

Catch 3 Pokémon reward – Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle encounter
Catch 5 Pokémon reward – Pikachu or Eevee encounter
Catch 15 Pokémon reward – 1 Rare Candy
Catch 25 Pokémon reward – 3 Rare Candies
Catch a Ditto reward – 1 Golden Razz Berry
Spin 5 PokéStops or Gyms reward – Magikarp encounter
Spin 20 PokéStops or Gyms reward – 1 Silver Pinap Berry

Pokémon 30th Anniversary bonuses

You can encounter any of the Gen 1 Pokémon, such as Dragonite, Gengar and Pikachu, in their natural habitat. Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres may also appear in the wild.
The Gen 1 regionally exclusive Pokémon will only appear in their specific regions.
Mewtwo and Mew will not be spawning in the wild.
Ditto’s disguises have changed.



The Memories in Motion season has started with the Pokémon 30th Anniversary event and new Pressure Rising Special Research quest.

There’s a lot to do in Pokémon Go outside of the current event! From the Go Battle League, Remote Trading, PokéStop Showcase, Routes and Max Battles. Don’t forget to catch rare Pokémon while you’re at it.

Pokémon 30th Anniversary Go Pass

Go Pass is available between Tuesday 3rd March at 10am (local time) to Monday 9th March to 8pm (local time).
There’s no daily point limit between Saturday 7th March at 12am (local time) to Monday 9th March at 7:59pm (local time).
Every player receives the Free Track.
Upgrading to the Deluxe Track costs $7.99 or the equivalent in your local currency.
Upgrading to the Deluxe Track with 10 Ranks pre-completed costs $9.99 or the equivalent in your local currency.
Free track rewards include a Mewtwo encounter, Gen 1 encounters and Candy.
Deluxe track rewards include Rare Candy, Mewtwo Candy XL and additional Gen 1 encounters for Pokémon like Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres.

Pokémon 30th Anniversary: All Out event

The Pokémon 30th Anniversary: All Out event will be running between Saturday 7th March at 10am (local time) to Monday 9th March at 8pm (local time).

This event includes its own raid pool, event-exclusive 2km eggs and some very special wild Pokémon spawns! So take a look below to find out everything you need to know about this event.

Pokémon 30th Anniversary: All Out wild Pokémon spawns

During this event, nearly every Pokémon released in the game so far will have the chance of appearing in their natural habitat! This is perfect for any newcomers or if you’re missing a very specific Pokédex entry. Just make sure you’re exploring the correct habitat. Using Incense may even lead to an encounter with a Wild Pokémon.
