Tipperary gardaí have seized electronic devices in a crackdown on so-called ‘dodgy boxes’.

Gardaí in Thurles conducted intelligence led operation in relation to alleged money laundering and provision of illegal streaming services, reported a garda spokesperson on Tuesday, March 3.

“Electronic devices were seized at a domestic residence and over 500 accounts suspected of obtaining illegal streaming services were shut down. No arrests have been made,” added gardaí.

Separately, gardaí in Cahir are investigating several incidents of thefts from cars in the Ardfinnan area overnight on Thursday into Friday, February 26 – 27.

“If you have CCTV/door cameras or saw anything suspicious, please contact Cahir Garda Station, on 052 7445630,” said a garda. “As always, please remember to lock your car whenever you step out and especially when you leave it parked up overnight. Thank you for your help.”
