Selena Gomez is dishing about her friendship with Taylor Swift! On top of revealing that “Dorothea” is literally about her (!!!!!), Sel chatted about the sweet 30th birthday gift Tay handmade for her back in 2022.
“She painted a beautiful lake,” Selena said on Benny Blanco’s Friends Keep Secrets podcast. “It was at night and the moon was there. In the stars, she painted our exact star signs.”
Taylor also hand-stitched “Here’s to the next 30 years,” and Sel noted “She did it on an actual cloth. She sewed every letter. It was the sweetest gift.”

Benny—who’s seen the piece—then added “It’s like one of the best paintings I’ve ever seen. She’s better at art.”
Reminder that Sel and Taylor have been friends forever, and Sel even gave an emotional speech at Taylor’s wedding. According to a Daily Mail insider, Taylor “talked about how she and Selena have both been through so much together both professionally and personally,” and “said that whenever one of them had their hearts broken from failed relationship over the years, they were always there for each other.”
Another source said that Taylor referenced “always having Selena’s back and how they are sisters—and that while Selena may see Taylor as the big sister, Taylor sees Selena as teaching her so much.”
