Google is now rolling out numerous new features to its Pixel smartphones under the banner of the March 2026 Feature Drop. Also available on the Pixel Tablet, the Feature Drop finally brings desktop windowing to Google’s most recent tablet release too.
At the same time, Google has confirmed that new features are coming to its smartwatches as well. On the one hand, the older Pixel Watch 3 will support gesture controls after receiving Google’s March 2026 update. Previously, exclusive to the Pixel Watch 4 (curr. $399 on Amazon), these gesture controls mean that one can take a call, scroll through notifications and take a photo on a paired smartphone just by tapping their thumb and index finger on their watch hand.
On the other hand, Google has expanded the Pixel Watch 4’s satellite connectivity options to more markets. Initially, the company only offered this functionality in the US. However, the March 2026 Feature Drop marks its rollout to Europe too. Moreover, the Pixel Watch 2 onwards now supports the option of tapping to pay or on transit systems without opening Wallet beforehand. Please see Google’s blog post for more details.Â
