There’s never been a shortage on screen of stories about men going through a midlife crisis, whether it’s the knockabout comedy of City Slickers or the improvised existential meanderings of John Cassavetes’ Husbands.

But stories of dissatisfied women reaching midlife and wondering what it’s all been for? Not so much.
