Thirteen-year-old Wicklow woodturner Adam Clancy of ‘Adam’s Windfall Crafts’.
While social media, YouTube or a gaming console might be the first port of call after a long day at school for most 13-year-olds, when first-year Wicklow student Adam Clancy drops his bag at the front door, it’s straight off to his father’s workshop, where he turns locally-sourced ash, beech and oak into rolling pins, cake stands and all manner of functional homeware.
Hailing from the foothills of Lugnaquilla, where he lives with his mother Keara, dad Kieran, and older sister Ally, Coláiste Eoin Hacketstown pupil Adam began his crafting journey sculpting decorative seasonal logs for Christmas fairs to make a few extra bob.
