The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced that Paul Mescal will be among the stars presenting Oscars at the Academy Awards in Hollywood on Sunday, 15 March.
On a night of multiple nominations for Irish talent, Hamnet star Mescal will join Gwyneth Paltrow, Robert Downey Jr, Anne Hathaway, Will Arnett, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas as an award presenter.

Adrien Brody, Javier Bardem, Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans, Chase Infiniti, Mikey Madison, Demi Moore, Kumail Nanjiani, Maya Rudolph, and Zoe Saldaña were previously announced as Oscar presenters for the ceremony at the Dolby Theatre.

Hamnet is nominated for eight Oscars this year, among them Mescal’s fellow Irish star Jessie Buckley in the Best Actress category, where she is the favourite to win.
Kildare man Mescal missed out on a Best Supporting Actor nomination for his performance in the Chloé Zhao-directed film of Coleraine-born author Maggie O’Farrell’s bestseller.
More Oscar presenters will be announced in the coming days.
The 98th Academy Awards, hosted by Conan O’Brien, will be shown live on RTÉ One from midnight on Monday, 16 March, and the ceremony will also air on RTÉ2 on Monday evening.
